Dr. Bettye Perkins Honored by Pace University

Congratulations to Dr. Bettye H. Perkins, Founder and CEO of Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers, on receiving the prestigious School Partnership Award from the Pace University School of Education at its Awards Ceremony held on Monday, May 18, on the Pleasantville campus!

The award was presented by Angela White, Program Coordinator of TOC II, and Dr. Tresmaine R. Grimes, Dean of the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education at Pace University. This distinguished honor recognizes Dr. Perkins’ extraordinary leadership, unwavering commitment to educational equity, and transformative impact on the teaching profession through her visionary work with Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers.

For decades, Dr. Perkins has created meaningful pathways for aspiring educators, particularly students from historically underrepresented communities, empowering countless young people to pursue careers in education and become leaders in their schools and communities. Through TSTT’s longstanding partnership with the Teachers of Color Empowerment Network (TOC) program, Dr. Perkins has exemplified the true spirit of collaboration, mentorship, service, and excellence in education. During the ceremony, TSTT alum Kristina Brown, who is graduating with her Master’s in Education, was also recognized,  a testament to the lasting impact of the program and its mission to develop future educators.

The School Partnership Award honors educational leaders and community partners whose contributions significantly enhance the preparation, support, and success of future educators. This is a mission Dr. Perkins has championed throughout her remarkable career.

We celebrate and thank Dr. Perkins for her continued commitment to empowering the next generation of educators and changing lives through education.
